Understanding Timelessness: If God Created the Universe, Who Created God?

The concept of timelessness perplexes the human mind, especially as it concerns a Supreme Being. The question is often asked by children who reflect the ongoing question of adults as well: If God created the Universe, then who created God? Parents smile, and often have no answer to this question, for there is no answer on the human level in which we see, hear, and know things.

The question of "Who created God?" is a three-dimensional question based on the perception of time. This perception includes an idea of 'before' and 'after' which belongs to the space-time continuum in which we live.

Imagine, however, a place without time, in which everything is co-existent. Instead of coming before or after it exists simultaneously within the same moment. What 'has been' within our time framework is there. What 'will be', also within our own time-framework is there. Everything exists simultaneously in a state of completeness and perfection.

The image of a Japanese scroll has been used to explain this difference. If we imagine a scroll rolled up and start unrolling it, we see a sequence of images that begin the scroll and as we unroll it and move closer and closer to the end, we see new images appearing with the ones at the beginning fading into the background. This is a picture of time unfolding.

Now let us unroll the scroll completely and look at it altogether. The same images are there that we saw in sequence. But now we see them all at once. This is the perspective of timelessness - the perspective of the complete realization of the eternal moment.

Human beings within their multidimensional identity have the capacity to live within time and within timelessness. It is a gift of perception that will open to our consciousness as we rejoin the spiritual dimensions that are our birthright and home.

The Spiritual and the Physical

All that manifests physically has its roots in consciousness.

There is no disease, disorder, structural problem, or anomaly that is not created first on the level of consciousness, not necessarily within this present lifetime, but within the frame of the soul's hisstory over time

It is difficult for the human self to consider the purposes of painful experience within the body, since it is essentially human to want to be free of pain altogether. Nevertheless, the roots of consciousness must always be considered as one seeks to heal from difficulties that present themselves on a physical level.
We have known this about the world of the mental and emotional. Now we must learn it about the world of the physical. All is energy - thoughts, emotions, physical structure. Some energies appear to be more crystallized, some more fluid. Yet, on the deeper subatomic levels of our physical being, all is movement and life.

Holding this perspective, one may address healing issues from the inside out and from the outside in. While not rejecting symptomatic approaches to the healing of pain or discomfort, one may also delve deeply within the self to touch the place of truth that created the physical body in a particular way in order to serve the needs of the self.

May this process of self-discovery be blessed.

The Power of Intention

Like smoke from a flame drifting upwards toward the sky, so does the power of intention convey the energy of our dreams, hopes, and wishes to the cosmic matrix from which all things emerge.

Intention is a catalyst. It sends forth an energy into the multidimensional reality of which we are a part, and links with resonant elements within that reality to begin to give shape to the manifestation of fulfillment. The stronger and purer the intention, the more is this the case.

Sometimes, the intention of the conscious self runs counter to the intention of the unconscious self or of the soul, and in this case wishes may not manifest in the way one would expect. But even then, that does not detract from the power of intention. It only means that a stronger intention from a different level of the self is manifesting, and if we were able to attune to that level, we would find greater peace since we would know that we were choosing a different course of action.

Many who are emotionally bereft or distressed cannot find within themselves a positive intention because the pain is too great and a sense of hopelessness, withdrawal, depression, or disillusionment has set in. Then, one must have the intention to intend, the wish to want something different, the prayer to be able to pray.

We are never left without the power of intention. And even if one cannot feel its power, believe in it, or hope for it, the longing to have hope can also be a powerful motive that sets energy in motion.

There is always an arrow that can emerge from the depths of the heart toward a light-filled goal - even in the presence of sorrow; even in the presence of disillusionment.

Therefore, want something, and let this yearning be blessed by its being in accord with Divine intention - Thy Will be done. Then all things shall come to pass.

The Healing Moment

God's grace permeates every moment of time. What this means is that life is a Divine flow, creating new opportunities for growth and healing in each moment.

Even if it seems that certain emotional or physical manifestations are intractable and refuse to budge despite one's best efforts, even then, there is a margin of possibility surrounding the intractable in which new choices can be made. These choices may not be the 'main event.' But they influence the 'main event'. They may be considered the 'healing edge' that is available in each moment - a place in which mind, heart, and spirit are ready to move forward. One must work with this 'healing edge' in the presence of that which cannot yet be moved, for it is the path to further healing and growth.

Many inner situations wait for an energetic shift so that new attitudes or motivations can come into being. Such a shift is not produced by the mind or will, but by the grace of God emanating light from a Divine source. One can invite this light in, open oneself to it, and make oneself ready to receive it, but one cannot will the light into being for it is a Divine flow with its own intelligence and timing. And yet there is much that one can do through believing in the inherent possibilities of each moment as a new beginning.

May the recognition of life's healing potential open within the awareness of each soul so that what is longed for, can be. Amen.

Themes

Each person's life contains one or more central 'themes'. These are the 'axies of healing' with which the soul enters life, defining those inner challenges that shall be faced not only on the level of emotion, but also within life situations.

'Themes' are important to know about, for they can bestow a sense of patience and compassion upon the embodied self, allowing consciousness to become a witness to its own learning process.

Often, what is most valuable about a 'theme' when it recurs over and over again, is the learning of how to surrender it to God. One's repetitive emotional patterns cannot generally be challenged or removed by will alone, but they can be given to the light and replaced by a higher motivation. This change of focus and intention is the process of purification, in which what is lower becomes higher and what is in need of healing becomes transformed.

The Miracle of Light

In the midst of many wonders and mysteries concerning the nature of Creation, we can know that spiritual light is the strongest creative power in the universe. God’s energy manifested as the power of light can reveal what has been hidden, can dissolve what is no longer of use to the self, and can set each being free to live in harmony with their Divine purpose. The miracle of light is that it makes all things possible.

Spiritual light is not separate from God. It is God in manifestation. It is an energy that includes light and love in unity that has the capacity to be ‘stepped-down’ so that it can reach from the highest dimensions of the spiritual universe to the lowest. This ‘stepping-down’ function is a vibrational one, assisted by countless beings within the Realms of Light whose purpose it is to raise the vibrational level of what is lower to that which is higher and to decrease the power of negative energies on the levels in which they play a large part.

The alchemical effect of introducing the higher frequencies of light within the physical dimension is that such light acts like a vortex which magnetizes the negative energies from wherever they have been embedded, uprooting them from their physical context so they can be more clearly seen, felt, and released. This ‘magnetizing’ quality is aided not only by beings from the Realms of Light who monitor and orchestrate this process, but also by embodied souls who have taken on certain aspects of this transformative mission who can assist with the separation process of darkness and light. Such embodied beings are often more porous to energies than others, and many have had innumerable experiences with various kinds of darkness as part of their training and mission.

When one who has been relatively impervious to spiritual light suddenly becomes more receptive through the melting away of negative barriers, the world can change in an instant. New perceptions can occur; new experiences can happen. All that has been, can suddenly look different. It takes but a second in order for perception to shift, for what is shifting is the basic construction of reality, now being seen through new eyes.

Those who are consciously seeking to participate in the transformation of the Earth and in their own healing process need to become conscious anchors of light upon the Earth. This is both a physical as well as an emotional and spiritual commitment. It involves purifying one’s spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical self so that each aspect can carry a force of light and discharge whatever remains of negative or denser energy. Just as bringing light into being was the first creative act of the Creator at the beginning of time, so, too, is it the ongoing creative act of the Creator in bringing all beings into greater wholeness. This movement of light is the driving force of spiritual evolution, and it works powerfully, now, as we encounter a new time of spiritual purification for the Earth and her inhabitants.

Living in a State of Grace

There will come a time for humanity when grace will replace karma. This will completely alter mankind's relationship to suffering and limitation.

Living in a state of grace is living in a state of alignment with God and light. It is being at one with the Oneness of all.

Living in a state of separation requires the wisdom of the soul to institute healing into wholeness. This healing often takes place through the experience of limitation.

Limitation and the perfection of each moment are not opposites.
They are different ways of viewing the Father-Mother God.

The perfection of each moment is experienced through the Mother - the Divine Self that IS. The Essence of all things.

Limitation in the moment is a pathway to the Father, the Divine Self that is becoming, the Self that is evolving all beings into greater Wholes.

All that is, is contained within Father-Mother God.
We are That and are in That at all times.

E pluribus Unum

Identity manifested or embodied - the last part of the sentence "I am a....."
Identity pre-manifestation - the same sentence without qualification - "I am."

This is the story of individuation and Being, the personal and the universal.

Personal: "I am a singular being and ray of light, defined by holy purpose and love for God."
Universal: "I am part of the "I AM" and therefore am not one but All."

Both 'personal' and 'universal' are part of the One.

In a parallel vein - the origin of time and space.

E unum pluribus - "out of One, many" - the story of Creation giving birth to life throughout the Universe.

E pluribus unum - "out of many, One" - the path of Return, the rediscovery of unity through diversity.

May all beings be blessed with the truth of their oneness. Amen

Journey of Purification

The journey of purification is a partnership between the human and the Divine.

The human will desires to cleanse itself of all that is not sanctified and light-filled - all that cannot join with love at the highest.

Divine will seeks to fulfill the promise made in the beginning - "I shall make man in my image and likeness."

It is this image and likeness that is the goal of purification and it is the destiny of all that is human to attain that goal. This is the nature of the sacred Covenant made with souls at the beginning of time and the purification process is a vehicle for the fuller expression of that Covenant.

Note: Michaelangelo's image of God (above) from the Sistine Chapel reflects the Divine-Personal. The same Covenant finds expression in the Divine-Universal that is the movement of Consciousness.

Light and Darkness as Cosmic Forces

On the highest planes of existence there is only One indivisible Unity. All things are contained within it.

This Unity, called by whatever name one chooses, is the same Unity. It contains light and darkness as well as all other pairs of opposites within itself, not yet separated, all merged in the oneness.

As one leaves this highest plane, duality comes into existence, pairs of opposites begin to differentiate, and light and darkness are increasingly separate.

Light is the creative power of God which brings all things into being. It contains within itself both love, intentionality, and intelligence. It is the God-force of Creation.

'Darkness' does not relate to the color of one's skin or to the sinfulness of one's most basic nature. It is both an energy and a motivating force that involves willing separation from the Divine. Darkness and light define each other in the cosmos as a pair of opposites. Each is a force, able to act upon human experience.

Unlike light which creates ever-expanding spirals of unity and love, darkness moves energy in the opposite direction, perpetuating isolation, conflict, and the absence of love.

The world as we know it has existed as an interplay between these forces and will continue to do so until such time as it can join with the energy of the higher planes. At that time the original Unity will prevail, and all shall return to the Oneness.

Now is the beginning of that time.

purposes of Creation.

the sacred Word brings into being
